The Women’s Premier League is back for its fourth season this January, and honestly, it’s shaping up to be a good one. If you’re thinking about grabbing tickets or just want the basics for WPL 2026, here’s what you need to know.

WPL 2026 Tournament Overview

Let’s start with the schedule. The TATA WPL 2026 kicks off on January 9 and wraps up on February 5. Five teams go at it in a double round-robin format, which means every team faces the others twice before the knockout rounds. That adds up to 22 matches packed into 28 days—so there’s action almost every night.

Mumbai Indians are coming in hot after clinching the title against Delhi Capitals in last season’s final. Royal Challengers Bengaluru took the trophy in 2024. And Delhi Capitals? Somehow, they’ve finished second in all three seasons so far, always the bridesmaid, never the bride. With the mega auction last November shaking up every squad, this season feels wide open. Expect surprises.

WPL 2026 Venues

This season, the tournament is split across two stadiums. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai kicks off, hosting the first 11 matches from January 9 to 17. It’s a big place—about 45,000 fans can pack in—and it recently staged the Women’s World Cup final.

Look out for student discounts and early bird deals—they pop up sometimes. And if you’ve got a little one under 2 years old, good news: most venues let them in for free.
