The second season of the T20 Spring Challenge is back with nine women’s teams, which are the eight women’s teams of the BBL and ACT Meteors.
The T20 Spring Challenge was introduced by Cricket Australia when the Women’s Big Bash League was reduced to 10 games per team instead of 14. This tournament will keep the teams and players active and give them the match time they really need before the BBL.
More so for players who do not have confirmed contracts, this tournament can help them get a WBBL contract.
We have included the full schedule of the event with their venues, all squads’ lists, and even where you can watch the series, live or otherwise.

Conclusion: The T20 Spring Challenge 2025-26 Brings The Best Of Australia’s Women’s Cricket Talent
This year’s T20 Spring Challenge feels more important than ever. The Hobart Hurricanes, who won it last season, will be hungry to do it again. With the WBBL season now shorter, this tournament gives players valuable time in the middle that they would otherwise miss.
With many of Australia’s top players away at the World Cup, the stage opens up for others to shine. Young players such as Ayaka Stafford can test their skills against experienced professionals and prove they belong at this level.
For the teams, the competition is a chance to experiment and see what works. Coaches can shuffle lineups, test new roles, and find out who stays calm under pressure. Players who do not yet have WBBL contracts can use this as a platform to earn one. Every team must sign at least one local player from their Spring Challenge squad, which keeps the games meaningful.
The format leaves no space for slow starts. Each side plays only four matches, so every result carries weight. Two strong performances can set up a semifinal spot, while one poor day can end the run completely.
For fans, it means ten days of exciting cricket packed into one city. It is also a chance to spot the next rising star before they make it big on the national stage.
