The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season, representing the elite group, is set to kick off from 15th October, and a strong 32 teams will compete with each other for the top Indian domestic test competition.

The tournament will be played between October 2025 and February 2026, and other domestic tournaments, including the Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare Trophy, will also be held concurrently with the Ranji Trophy.

Ranji Trophy Elite 2025-26: Fixtures

The first set of matches begins on 15th October, and all 32 teams are playing at various venues across the country.

Ranji Trophy Elite 2025-26 Teams

The Ranji Trophy Elite 2025 will feature 32 teams divided into four Elite groups, with each group consisting of eight teams. These teams represent state cricket associations and are some of the most competitive sides in Indian domestic cricket.

As of now, the official player squads have not been announced by the BCCI or state associations. Most teams are expected to retain a core group of experienced players while introducing fresh talent from the domestic circuit. 

Once the full squads are released, this section will be updated with detailed team lists and key players to watch out for.

Ranji Trophy 2025/26 Knockout Matches & Final

From the Elite groups, the top two teams in each group move forward to the quarterfinals. This gives us eight teams who compete in the knockout stage. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final are each played over five days to give teams a fair chance to perform.

After the league stage ends, the focus turns to the knockout rounds. These matches decide which two teams make it to the final. The winning team is crowned the Ranji Trophy champion and earns a place in Indian domestic cricket history.

Out of the last five seasons, Saurashtra is the only team that has won it more than once. Vidarbha won the recent final match against Kerala and claimed the league title in 2024/25.
