Semi-final Highlights & Performances

South Zone vs North Zone: South Zone’s batting was led by N. Jagadeesan, who fell just short of a double century with 197. Contributions also came from Ricky Bhui (54) and Tanay Thyagarajan (58), as they posted a mammoth 536. Nishant Sindhu starred for North Zone with a brilliant 5/125. In reply, North Zone fought back with Shubham Khajuria’s gritty 128 and Sindhu’s 82, but they were bowled out for 361. Gurjapneet Singh (4/96) and MD Nidheesh (3/82) made the difference with the ball. With a first-innings lead of 175 runs, South Zone advanced to the final after the match ended in a draw.

West Zone vs Central Zone: Ruturaj Gaikwad stood tall for West Zone with a classy 184, helping them reach 438 in the first innings. Central Zone’s batting was even stronger, powered by Shubham Sharma (96), Rajat Patidar (77), Upendra Yadav (87), and Harsh Dubey (75), taking them to 600. Quarterfinals Highlights & Performances

Central Zone vs North East Zone: Central Zone sealed their spot in the semifinals after taking a huge first-innings lead. They made 532/4 declared in the first innings, thanks to Danish Malewar’s 203, Rajat Patidar’s 125, and later Shubham Sharma’s 122 in the second innings. North East Zone were bowled out for 185 in reply and could only reach 200/6 in the second innings. The match ended in a draw but Central Zone went through on first-innings advantage.

North Zone vs East Zone: North Zone also progressed in similar fashion. They posted 405 in the first innings before bowling East Zone out for 230, with Auqib Nabi’s magical spell of four wickets in four balls standing out. In the second innings, North Zone piled on 658/4 declared, where Ayush Badoni scored a brilliant unbeaten 204 and Ankit Kumar made 198. East Zone couldn’t recover, and North Zone advanced on first-innings lead.

The tournament was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. Initially played between India Red, Blue, and Green, the format later shifted to zonal teams, and then to four squads named India A, B, C, and D.
